The Hacklewood Restaurant
In order to truly experience Hacklewood Hill at the height of its stately Victorian glory, one must try their fine dining menu dinner at the five-star restaurant.
The dining room has a magnificent chandelier. The cut glass, crystal goblets, starched linen and full silver cutlery on the tables, while superbly trained waiters serve a splendid array of gourmet cuisine. Little wonder that the restaurant has garnered itself a collection of fine dining awards and has become a firm favourite on the Port Elizabeth dining scene – not only for its exquisite dinners, but also full English breakfasts, High Tea's and light lunches. The Hacklewood wine cellar is a delightful underground treasure trove. Here guests are invited to browse an impressive selection of imported white wines and champagnes, as well as a rare collection of vintage reds.
The restaurant itself is the proud recipient of 9 American Express Fine Dining Awards and recently won Platinum in the Diners Club International Wine List Awards for 2018. The Hacklewood Hill restaurant is open to in house guests as well as people looking to celebrate an occasion, or simply spend a romantic evening with a loved one. Booking in advance is essential.
